Pottery wheel for beginners
In this 4-part course you will learn how to create your own pots, bowls & cups on the pottery wheel and glaze them during the last session.
What to expect:
Pottery wheel for beginners! Create your own pots, bowls & cups in ceramics at these workshops.
    • Week 1: We will learn how to centre clay on the wheel and create a basic straight sided pot.
    • Week 2: We will continue to practice throwing and learn how to make bowl shapes.
    • Week 3: We will trim some of the pots that we have thrown in the previous weeks, so they have neat bases and are ready to be fired. We will also try a few different ways to make handles for some of the pots.
    • Week 4: We will spend the last session glazing the pots as they will have been fired once. They will then be ready to collect from the Art Space in a few weeks' time!
What to bring:
All clay and tools will be provided.
Aprons will also be provided, and clay does wash out of clothes, but please wear something that you don’t mind getting a bit messy. If you have an old towel, please bring this along as it is helpful for cleaning your hands.
We have various teas and coffee in the space, but please bring any snacks you might need for the duration of the class.

This workshop is suitable for all ability levels. All Materials included.
