What to expect
During the hour and a half session you will see a demonstration and get a chance to experience the sensation of throwing and create a few items to keep.
These sessions are aimed at familiarizing yourself with the potters wheel and getting a taste for the craft. We will center a ball of clay and form cylinders which are the first stage of creating many objects on the wheel.
Pieces will be clear glazed, fired and ready for collection within a few weeks of your session. Colored glaze is available for a small additional fee.
All tuition, materials, basic clear glaze and firing costs are included in the price.
Once glazed all items are food and drink safe!
What to bring
All clay and tools will be provided however throwing can be a messy business so we recommend wearing clothes you won't mind getting mucky. Don't worry though, clay is water soluble so will come out in the wash!
NOTE: We can store finished ceramic work in the studio for up to 6 months after a class takes place; after this point we cannot guarantee work will be kept.
