Kids Pottery Club
We are running an after school pottery club for kids at our studio in Shawlands, Glasgow. Beginning on February 23rd at 4pm and led by the wonderful Megan Devlin who is experienced in running kids ceramics workshops. Kids Pottery Club is the perfect creative outlet for your children to express themselves and realise their ideas through clay making, wheel throwing and glaze decoration. The recommended age range is 7 to 13 years.
Each week we will work to create sculptural pieces that interests the children. Following the themes brought up by the children we will apply various hand building techniques to create forms. These may be practical sculptures for the home (vases, bowls, cups, plates, candles holders, etc) or creative sculptural artworks (surrounding the themes of self portraits, animals, nature & space)
Students will enjoy learning new skills as they discover techniques used to hand build wonderful clay projects. In the studio, we will use slab, coil and pinch pot sculpting methods to create unique ceramic masterpieces. No previous experience is required and all are welcome. The classes include all materials and firings and children are encouraged to be involved in all of the ceramic processes.
