Online pottery workshops for the Southside community.
What is it?
In response to the Covid-19 crisis, Art Space G41 is offering online pottery workshops for isolated and vulnerable adults, kids and families.
Each workshop will be a 3 week block – 2 hours per week.
Full instruction and demonstration will be given via zoom.
All essential materials and equipment will be provided for you to follow along at home.
Through the Area Partnership Fund, from Glasgow City Council we are very excited to offer this workshop for FREE!
How does it work?
Step one
Check you qualify for Community Pottery – do you live in one of the areas mentioned?
Step two
Book your place for one of our online pottery workshops via Eventbrite website, facebook or at the Art Space G41 store.
Step three
Collect your clay and tool Pack from the Art Space G41 store. Ensure you collect you Clay Pack in advance of your ZOOM workshop.
Step four
Log in details will be submitted to you via EMAIL in advance of your class with the ZOOM workshop information.
Step five
At your allocated time slot, log into the ZOOM meeting using the link that was sent to you by EMAIL.
Step six
Enjoy 3 weeks of pottery classes via ZOOM! Each class will be on the same day and time each week.
Step seven
Drop off all your finished pottery pieces to the Art Space G41 store.
Step eight
Art Space G41 will thoroughly DRY and FIRE your pottery pieces in the kiln.
Step nine
Art Space G41 will Glaze your pottery pieces and do the final FIRING in the kiln.
Step ten
Collect your finished pieces from Art Space G41 and enjoy using these at home! These will be food and dishwater safe!
What do I need?
- Internet access and Zoom
- Table top approx 50cm square
- Wooden rolling pin
- Cup of water and small paint brush
- Old pillow case or fabric table cloth
Which areas are included?
To qualify for a position at our workshop you must reside in Glasgow, Southside:
Bellahouston, Dumbreck, Craigton, Pollokshields, Shawlands, Strathbungo. Battlefield, Camphill, King’s Park, Langside, Mount Florida, Toryglen. Crosshill, Govanhill, Hutchesontown, Laurieston or Oatlands.
