Led by Rebecca Barbour
Although this is a beginners class, participants should have basic knowledge of how to use a sewing machine.
Have you ever fancied making your own clothes? Picked up a pattern but felt completely confused about where to start? If so, this is the perfect course for you. The class is suitable for people who have a basic knowledge of a sewing machine or who have completed a beginners sewing class. The class will give you the skills and confidence to make your own clothes from patterns in the future.
What to expect
You will have the option of making a top or dress from Tilly and the Buttons 'Stevie' or the 'Cleo' dungaree dress. You will be guided through how to copy the pattern, cut the fabric and construct the garment. Time permitting you will also go through some crucial dressmaking techniques like darts, invisible zips and buttonholes.
What to bring
You will receive details of fabric requirements as it will be best if you can go and choose something to your own taste. All haberdashery will be supplied and you will be given your own copy of the sewing pattern to take home with you.
Sewing machines and tools are provided however you are welcome to bring your own machine if you would like.
